Camping with children – our top 5 tips!

Camping with children can be a fun and rewarding experience for the whole family – but a little planning beforehand is advised to make the trip a success!  

We have put together our top 5 tips to make the experience enjoyable and memorable for the entire family:

1. Plan ahead: Make a list of essential items you’ll need for your camping trip, including camping gear, food, and clothing. Involve your children in the planning process and let them choose some activities and snacks to bring along.
2. Choose a family-friendly campsite: Look for a campsite that is suitable for families with children. Choose a site with easy access to amenities like restrooms and showers.
3. Practice camping skills at home: Set up a tent in your backyard and let your children practice setting it up and taking it down. This will help them feel comfortable and confident when you arrive at the campsite.
4. Bring entertainment: Pack board games, books, and other activities to keep your children entertained during downtime.
5. Let your children explore: Encourage your children to explore the natural surroundings and learn about the plants and animals in the area.  Create a sense of adventure by making the camping experience fun and exciting by planning hikes, scavenger hunts, and other outdoor activities.
